-Heartpicker- First devlog.

Hii! I'm fetus.

Welcome to heartpicker: My new indie multiplayer horror game.

Inspired by Baldi's Basics, Content Warning and Grace,  this game's objective is to provide both fun and scary gameplay.

This game is very limited due to it being made in Turbowarp, a scratch mod that compiles the game to javascript to make it run faster. Still, i'm doing my best to make the game enjoyable and clean.

Anyway, let's get to the actual devlog!

(btw don't expect it to be good i've always sucked at devlogs)

1: Main game progress.

Objects:

Heartpicker has 10 main levels. Each one adds unique monsters, getting harder over time.

All 10 main levels are done, so i've been adding objects to make the game feel more replayable.

These objects are obtained by completing achievements, such as beating a certain level, doing something you shouldn't do...

You can play holding a torch, a cross,  a syringe... Even a flower if you want! Each object does something different to help you.

The first 5 objects have been coded and ported to multiplayer.

Shaders:

Been experimenting with shaders. For those who don't know what shaders are, shaders are scripts that modify the game's canvas (basically, effects).

I tried adding a glow shader, but it made the game uncomfortable to play even on the lowest setting. It got me some cool screenshots tho.

After trying many different shaders,  none worked.

2: Multiplayer progress.

AIs:

After a lot of work, all monsters have been ported to multiplayer.

Making a multiplayer game on scratch is not easy. To replicate monster movements, a lot of cloud variables are used.

Fortunately, there aren't many bugs left to fix.

Objects:

You can now see what object a maze rat is holding.

This was kind of a headache cause i had to make 4 sprites per object...

.

Anyway, that's all!!!
Sorry if it was a short devlog, i'm mostly recoding AIs so i'm not really adding much stuff...

Byeee!!!!!

(demo might release soon btw)
